Knowledge Management Specialist

We are looking for a Knowledge Management Specialist to fill a new position on our team in Amsterdam.

As a Knowledge Management Specialist at UNStudio, you will be a part of the currently developing Research & Innovation team, report directly to the Director in charge of the Research & Innovation team and work closely with Directors, internal strategic initiatives, HR Learning and Development Specialist, and the Communications Department.

Your core responsibilities include ensuring knowledge remains relevant, up-to-date, high quality and accessible. You’ll identify knowledge gaps as well as connection and improvement opportunities and help increase the flow of knowledge by optimising processes, cultivating a culture of knowledge sharing, collaboration and continuous improvement. In collaboration with the HR Department, you will advise on and strategically drive content development for UNStudio’s L&D platform.

You will support, coordinate and collaborate with R&I sub-teams and internal strategic initiatives as well as with the Communications Department to ensure knowledge is continuously improved, easy to use and accessible. You will work with project teams to ensure the right knowledge is identified, captured, maintained, curated and shared at the right time.

You will bring value through your knowledge asset and governance experience, as well as your proven ability to connect and inspire people, innovate and optimise knowledge flows and ways of working to deliver tangible benefits.

While based in Amsterdam, you will work with UNS global offices to strengthen our knowledge sharing capabilities and initiatives and collectively leverage our expertise.

Role Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role including knowledge transfer, mapping, capture and curation, and developing knowledge connections and communities
  • Demonstrated experience in knowledge asset development
  • Demonstrated experience in the AEC field is a plus
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and resolving knowledge gaps via innovative and scalable solutions
  • Interest in knowledge base technologies, implementation and optimisation as well as information management principles
  • Basic understanding of computational tools in order to identify opportunities to integrate knowledge management aspects into an architectural workflow
  • Demonstrated experience in programming and organizing events focused on knowledge sharing
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Excellent consultative, facilitation, and engagement skills able to influence, motivate and align multiple teams and individuals, and generate enthusiasm and excitement for knowledge transfer and sharing
  • Excellent interpersonal skills focused on collaboration, building links and networks across diverse teams
  • Ability to identify and integrate best practices, extract knowledge and make it accessible in pragmatic ways across different units and teams
  • Creative and self-motivated with strong problem-solving skills and ability to think both strategically and operationally in terms of culture, behavior and work processes 

Key Tasks
This is a new position at UNStudio and therefore subject to further development. Activities include but are not limited to below tasks:

  • Lead the research, development and implementation of UNStudio wide knowledge management tools
  • In collaboration with Project and R&I teams identify opportunities to integrate knowledge management aspects into an architectural workflow
  • Develop ,implement and maintain standardized processes in order to capture and store lessons learnt and other key areas of knowledge from projects making it accessible on central platforms for all UNStudio offices
  • Replicate good practice and proven solutions across different teams
  • Collaborate with Project and R&I sub-teams to identify knowledge gaps and envision steps to bridge them – either through developing internal learning content/training or external resources
